VIEIRA BEACH

S.PEDRO DE MOEL BEACH

This beach is located in the municipality of Marinha Grande, between Pinhal do Rei and the Atlantic Ocean, it is a beach sheltered in a shell and with an aristocratic air, surrounded by the famous Pinhal de Leiria.

 
NAZARÉ

It is the most typical beach in Portugal. Known for its extensive white sand, with a sea full of iodine, it rises blue in the morning and turns silver in the afternoon. Surfboards and body-boards glide on the famous waves of this beach. The giant wave, about 30 meters long, at Praia do Norte and known as the Grande Canyon da Nazaré, which world-renowned surfer Garrett McNamara, dominated in a spectacular way, in 2011 became famous.

The tradition remains on this beach, famous for the 7 skirts of Nazarene women who parade along the sidewalk along the seafront and for the horse mackerel spread over the sand, golden in the sun. From the “Sítio” there is an imposing view of this beautiful beach.

 
ALCOBAÇA

This city has the famous Santa Maria de Alcobaça Monastery, Gothic monument and UNESCO World Heritage Site, elected in 2007, one of the 7 wonders of Portugal. It was started by the Cistercian Monks in 1178. The Church and the cloisters are of a unique beauty. It houses the famous tombs of D. Pedro and D. Inês de Castro and refers to the beautiful love story that united these two lovers.

 
BATALHA

The imposing Monastery of Santa Maria da Vitória (14th – 16th centuries) is located in this city, a work of Portuguese Gothic art and classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a national reference point. Special mention should be made of the Founders' Chapel with its magnificent stained glass windows, cloisters and imperfect chapels.

 
FÁTIMA

It is one of the most important religious centers in the world. Its sanctuary receives thousands of pilgrims. Its importance derives from the apparitions of Our Lady to 3 little shepherds, Lúcia, Francisco and Jacinta. The date of May 13, 1917, the date of the 1st apparition in Cova da Iria, the best known.
